Recently I was reminded of the importance of having an attitude of gratitude.
It can be so easy to slip into patterns of behavior where you forget to be consciously grateful and consciously joyful.
Having an attitude of gratitude is immensely important as by the law of attraction, feeling grateful just attracts more things into your life that you can be grateful for.
When we are consciously grateful we raise our vibrations and raising our vibrations brings so much more good into our experience.
I was recently enormously inspired by watching some youtube videos of a speech given by Nick Vujicic.
Nick Vujicic was born without arms or legs. Doctors believed he would never be able to move around or be upright. He has what he calls 'a drumstick' at the bottom of his torso and he uses this to move about and can manage tasks such as answering a telephone by using this like a flipper and flipping the receiver up to his ear.
In spite of dire predictions about his quality of life, and despite suicidal thoughts at the age of 8, Nick Vujicic decided to make his life amazing.
He decided to give the world hope and inspiration in a way that nobody else could give it. At the time of these youtube videos he was 23 years old and already fabulously successful, far more successful - and happier, than most of us with all our limbs have managed to be.
When you listen to Nick Vujicic you are instantly made aware how ridiculous it is to be anything less than WONDERFULLY GRATEFUL for your body, no matter what! If you have a body that can run, jump, swim, cycle, then you should be all the more grateful.
We all have amazing bodies, no matter what state they're in, they're amazing! They put up with so much abuse from us: most of us have spent a lifetime putting crap into them on a daily basis, barely exercising them, yet when they occasionally get sick we curse them!
What a ridiculous notion! We should be thanking our bodies and feeling awe and amazement that they manage as well as they do!
And when our bodies get sick, we should be grateful for the sickness as sickness is just the body's way of clearing out the wastes and dealing with the lifestyle abuses we have subjected them to.
The power of having an attitude of gratitude, love and joy is not just that it transforms us emotionally, but it transforms us physically too
Having an attitude of gratitude inspires better behavior. It inspires you to start eating right, to start appreciating the burden that nutrient deficient foods place on your body.
It inspires you to move that body, because you CAN! There is amazing joy in movement and we came here to be joyful.
Do cartwheels and handstands on the beach! Go running and swimming! And do it all while having an attitude of gratitude and in no time your body will become more of what you want it to be. It will show you more things to be grateful for.
Improvements in how we look come about from having an attitude of gratitude and letting that gratitude suffuse us with love. Love is a cure.
When we love ourselves there can be no self harm!
You are loved! So love yourself.
Make a Gratitude List
Make a gratitude list of all the things in your life you are grateful for, make it colorful, put in pictures and drawings, and look at this gratitude list every day.
Gratitude elevates us, inspires us, and frees us, as once we become suffused with gratitude we realize that nothing has power OVER us.
An attitude of gratitude is something to carry with you, always.
