Zeitgeist Addendum

By Jonathan Andrews (with Alison Andrews)

Zeitgeist Addendum is all about money, how all money is created out of debt and how debt is used to enslave the world. This is far more than mere conspiracy theory, it's time to stand up and be counted!

None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

After the thunderous first zeitgeist film: Zeitgeist The Movie you may be wondering what else Peter Joseph has up his sleeve, or if he can do any better with his second film: Zeitgeist Addendum.

I assure you he can.

Zeitgeist Addendum starts with....MONEY. There is so much more to the paper in your wallet than you realize.

Economics is seen by the layman as a completely separate entity. Though, it is really just about money. Television shows us the financial markets all time, yet how many people have any idea what all those numbers and terms actually mean?

Why complicate it to such a degree that you have to spend years in a university to understand it all? And even then I expect you to simply come out convinced that the naked king is wearing fine clothes.

All this rubbish is designed to conceal the socially paralysing scheme that is our monetary system.

Zeitgeist Addendum: How money works today (The fractional reserve banking system)

Ok, so let’s go into the monetary system. The Federal Reserve Bank has published a booklet called “Modern Money Mechanics” this little bugger explains how money is created and the process behind the fractional reserve banking system.

So, the government decides it wants some money. They ask the reserve bank for say ten billion. The reserve bank will say yes and send over some official looking pieces of paper (money) that they say is ten billion, in exchange for some other official looking pieces of paper (government bonds) that the government has printed.

Once received, the government will then deposit this money into a private bank.  As soon as this happens, there is now officially an extra ten billion in the monetary supply. Though this happens electronically nowadays (less than ten percent of ALL currency is in physical form).

It must be emphasised that the government is loaning this money from the reserve bank. The ten billion injected into the monetary supply is done so on loan. The government has to pay this money back with interest.

Zeitgeist Addendum: All money is created out of debt.

So now the private bank has ten billion that it has just got from the government. However, it is only required by law to keep ten percent of its reserves “on hand” thus it may lend out 90% of the money anyone deposits into its reserves.

Thus nine billion can be lent to customers. But this is where it gets very tricky. Though I will not attempt to explain it in elaborate detail because it even begins to confuse me!

But this is basically what happens: due to some complete madness, the I.O.U’s received from lending out this money are treated as if they are money, and 90% of this can in turn be lent out again! Thus, from one initial deposit, about nine times that amount can be created out of thin air!

Zeitgeist Addendum: Inflation

The problem with all this is that all this new money gets its value from the money that is already in circulation. This is the cause of inflation. Let me explain:

Say we live in world with only one car and only ten peanuts. So we decide that the only car in the world is worth all the peanuts in the world and vice versa.

Now along comes a man who learns how to grow peanuts. He grows five peanuts.

Before, the car was worth only the ten peanuts everyone knew about. If you had a peanut you were considered a rich man, but now there are an extra five peanuts and still only one car!

The people who have peanuts are now worse off than when there were only ten peanuts! Their buying power has been dramatically reduced! And so every time they put in more money into the money supply, the money we have becomes less valuable.

Zeitgeist Addendum: Your salary buys you less and less every day.

This is a hidden tax on the public. The more money they create the more debt that is created along with it!

Zeitgeist Addendum: Money=Debt

Since the money was created out of debt, there is not enough money in the world to pay it all back! And there never will be.

Zeitgeist Addendum: Bankruptcy is inherent in our monetary system

What does this mean for you?

It means that we are all playing musical chairs, all the time. There is always going to be a loser. It is impossible for everyone to pay back their loans as there is just not enough money in circulation! Thus forfeiture and bankruptcy are inherent in the system! Someone has to lose, and all you can do is try to make sure that it’s not you!

Zeitgeist Addendum: When the music stops there is one person left standing! Every time.

As said in the first zeitgeist article, it was not always this way.

The United States was fought for and founded because the people realised that this very system was being forced upon them by Great Britain.

The colonies had to borrow their money, at interest, from the Bank of England. They were being forced to play musical chairs and they didn’t like it one bit.

Thus for years the greenback was a debt free currency.

Unfortunately though, the bankers got what they wanted again in the early twentieth century by buying politicians, and the Federal Reserve Act was passed leaving the dollar once again riddled with debt as soon as it was printed.

This is why new money is created all the time: It is created in order to pay back the original debt. However, this newly created cash carries debt as soon as it is printed! For every dollar printed, a dollar and some cents are owed back...

The hamster wheel keeps turning faster and faster and we keep running faster and faster just to keep up.

Zeitgeist Addendum: It's slavery. Very clever slavery, but still slavery.

What do we do when we are in debt? We submit to employment that pays us less than our worth. It matters not whether you are an individual or a country. We are wage slaves that stay in line at all costs.

Zeitgeist Addendum: Debt is used to enslave the world.

Zeitgeist Addendum: The IMF and the World Bank ensure slavery of entire countries.

The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund do to countries the exact same thing that is done to us. Enslaving entire nations and keeping them as wage slaves, getting their resources extracted at a fraction of their worth!

Zeitgeist Addendum: Funny how some of the most resource wealthy nations are the poorest...

Zeitgeist Addendum introduces us to John Perkins - the author of "Confessions of an Economic Hitman". He worked for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as an economic hit man operating in South America for many years.

He and people like him would arrange loans to developing states in order to “help them” develop their infrastructure etc, though most of the money would go directly to the companies contracted to do the work. These companies would be owned by the same parties/interested groups that arrange the loan in the first place. Of course the people in the puppet government would get their share of the spoils. These projects benefit very few people in the poor country.

At some point in the future when the host country cannot service its debts, the loan providers would come back and make another deal with the puppet government. This time they would reduce the debt in exchange for other types of services favouring the loan providers and their particular interests. Such as selling their resources for a fraction of their worth, voting in favour of their policies or allowing things that they would not normally allow.

Zeitgeist Addendum: An entire country is now in the pocket of the loan providers. They can make them do anything they want.

All the benefit goes to the more powerful party providing the loans. The money loaned out goes straight to the contracting companies (companies they own, or have interests in) to do the work, so they are basically paying themselves, and afterwards they now have a slave state to manipulate as they wish.

The developing countries government knows this is happening; they know that they are selling out their whole country and all the people in it as slaves.

However, they do it because they themselves will become rich beyond anything they have ever dreamed. And they can claim they are doing all this to help their people. They can say to themselves: “This country needs some nuclear power plants, military equipment etc” and convince themselves they have done well for their country quite easily. Though if they were honest they would never have signed for a few billion dollars of money to be paid to foreign corporations to build some crap they don’t even need, when they are aware of the fact that they could never afford the loan in the first place!

Once a nation has accepted a loan, it is hooked. Good and proper. Before long up to half of a countries income is going to pay back the loans. Loans where the money, as explained above, was created out of thin air!

Zeitgeist Addendum: The destruction of any leader seeking to free his people from exploitation

The most disturbing thing is that as soon as a leader comes in and says: “Enough! The people of this country will no longer be slaves to your interests, they will benefit from the riches of their lands” we can expect this precise chain of events (depending on how much this country is worth to the core state/interested parties).

  • He will be bribed. If he is incorruptible then:
  • He will die unexpectedly in an accident. If his security is too good and this fails:
  • He will be overthrown by people within his own country who have been bought and bribed with power by the slave drivers. If this fails for whatever reason:
  • He will get some very bad press, magically be accused of terrorism, degrading peoples human rights, making big bombs etc and thus his country will be invaded to “save” his people.

Zeitgeist Addendum: It happens like this nearly every single time.

John Perkins testifies that among the many politicians he overthrew one was Jaime Roldós Aguilera, the then president of Ecuador. He was incorruptible and would not accept bribes from John Perkins; he wanted his people to benefit from the oil resources Ecuador possessed.

He soon died in a mysterious plane crash.

Perkins claims this was the work of CIA sponsored Jackals. He himself was never personally involved in assassinations; his job was to firstly corrupt and influence the politicians of South America.

Omar Torrijos the leader of panama from 1968 to 1981 was similarly incorruptible. John Perkins could not bribe him at all.

Omar Torrijos's sole purpose was to uplift his people and the people of South America from the exploitation they were suffering from the north.

After renegotiating a treaty which gave the Panama Canal back to his country, Jaime Roldós Aguilera was killed. Omar Torrijos knew he was next, and in the same year he died in a similar plane crash.

Perkins claims this was undoubtedly the work of CIA sponsored jackals.

There are many more such stories in the film, from South America to the Middle East. Men like John Perkins have long been behind the scenes corrupting and controlling the domestic polices of independent countries in order to favour the world superpowers.

Zeitgeist Addendum: This is happening today.

Any time we hear of another leader overthrown, do not simply accept the story as it is told on television. Hardly anything happens in international politics that isn’t pre-planned by a superpower. Sad but true.

The poor are just getting poorer! Take a look at the situations in the third world countries. It’s not pretty. There has never been so much poverty and slavery in the world as we have now. Though if you don’t know any better you would be convinced that it’s never been better on planet Earth.

Zeitgeist Addendum: Terrorism

When a people get too upset about all of this, when they realise they are being forced into legal slavery, when they rebel and try to take back the lands of their ancestors, they become something we hear of everyday.

They become a “terrorist”.

Whether they are a terrorist or whether they are a freedom fighter depends on which side you’re looking from.

Nelson Mandela was a terrorist to the Apartheid government. He was a freedom fighter to the black South African.

The ugly truth is:

  • About 68 Americans are killed by “terrorists” each year.
  • Peanut allergies kill more Americans yearly.
  • Coronary heart disease kills 500 000 Americans each year.
  • The budget for heart disease is 3 billion dollars a year.
  • Terrorism gets 161 billion dollars a year.
  • Huh?

The true terrorist does not slip around dark alleys at night, wearing rags and screaming “Allah Akbar!” when he blows something up. The real terrorists of this world wear 10 000 dollar suits and work in the highest levels of governance and business.

Before 1980, Afghanistan produced none of the world's opium, however, by 1986 after the U.S backed Mujahedeen retook the country from the Soviets, they were producing 40% of the world's opium supply.

By 1999 Afghanistan was up to 80% of the world's opium supply. Then came the sneaky Taliban... when they took over they destroyed most of the production – it went from 3000 tons a year down to 150 tons!

By September 2001, Afghanistan invasion plans were on the desk of the President, and soon afterwards they had their excuse.

Today Afghanistan produces over 90% of the world’s heroin, all under U.S control. They break production records every year. This information is straight from the Washington Post and a United Nations report on the matter.

Zeitgeist Addendum: Human nature

Humans are naturally competitive and greedy creatures...

Bullshit. Scarcity and lack of resources are an artificial creation, designed to compel humans into our current mind frame of maximum profit, “get all you can while you still can!”

Human nature is learned. If you are born into a clan of village islanders you would grow up into that belief system. The values we consider common today would be completely alien

Zeitgeist Addendum: Jacque Fresco and the Venus Project

Jacque Fresco of the Venus Project rightly maintains that our politicians are not elected to change things, they are elected to keep things the way they are. This system put them in power, why would they want to change it?

An oil company has no interest in finding a clean source of energy. If one of the many available alternatives becomes widely used they would lose trillions. It is in their interests to halt any and all usage of alternate energy!

In a capitalist system, or a monetary system, it is hard for any institution to change. They do not want to acknowledge that there is anything better than them! It means the death of their business.

There is no ethics or decency in our system, it is simply not affordable! Does a doctor you visit only recommend the procedures you need or does he squeeze in a few extras so he can pay off his Ferrari quicker?

Do you actually need a lifetime of treatment or can a simple change in diet and lifestyle fix your health? If someone is on the board of a pharmaceutical company and knows that there is a natural cure for a major disease, and also knows that he can get you to pay him huge amounts of money for a lifetime of synthetic treatment; what do you think he would do?

Scary, isn’t it.

Political ideology... just more smoke to confuse you. Capitalism, fascism, communism and the rest are all as corrupt as each other. They all produce the same system. The only difference between China and the U.S. is the amount of government control in the market. Free enterprise is simply the most aggressive form of capitalism.

Liberal Economics (or any economic model) will tell you a bullshit story about how competition and the free market promote the wants and needs of society efficiently. The “invisible hand” will guide production and settle demand and supply into the best price etc (someone shoot me). What they don’t tell you is that competition actually leads to limited technology and forced scarcity!  As explained above, new technology is not sought out if it interferes with the current profits. It is actively repressed!

It is scarcity that makes money, people don’t pay for air. There is so much of it there is no need! But we pay a lot for diamonds! Though there are more diamonds in permanent storage than there are in circulation!

Zeitgeist Addendum: Large numbers of diamonds are DESTROYED just to maintain the illusion of 'scarcity'!

The diamond companies would be making spare change if there were too many diamonds available to the public.

What is so important to understand is this:

There is no scarcity! We have enough for everything we ever want and for every person on the planet!

Jacque fresco states that it is not money that does anything for you. The things that really do the business of freeing humans of idle work and inconvenience is technology

Zeitgeist Addendum: Technology is our benefactor

It is technology that allows me to write this article in the comfort of my own home, it is technology that allows me to transport myself great distances quickly, to speak to my family at will even though they are far from where I reside.

Technology is our complete and utter benefactor.

Zeitgeist Addendum: The Venus Project and a Resource Based Economy

The Venus Project is the brainchild of Jacque Fresco; and is about replacing the current monetary system with a resource based economy.

The aim of such an economy is the effective management of our planet and the finite resources on it. Instead of endlessly pursuing profit at the cost of our lives and our environment, people living this way would aim to benefit not only humans, but the planet as a whole.

Technology would be developed constantly, instead of only when it is profitable to do so.

Fresco highlights how much we could do right now.

Zeitgeist Addendum: With the technology we have today, we could free ourselves from nearly all labour, all hunger and all reliance on fossil fuels.

We are capable of producing everything anyone will ever need and then some! And we can do this now! The only thing we lack is the will to do it.

From virtually never-ending geothermal energy to high speed automated transport moving us from one side of the globe to another in an hour. It seems like the stuff of science fiction films, though it is good to remember that our lives today are science fiction to those of the yesteryear.

Zeitgeist Addendum: What would compel a person to produce if he was not getting paid for it?

This is the kicker for most people... they cannot understand what would make people get up in the morning if it was not to make money and survive.

They think we would all just get fat and stay home watching T.V.

This is not the case.

Think about what you are passionate about? If you're passionate about music, do you only play it if someone is paying you? If you're passionate about photography, do you only take pictures when someone pays you? We all have different passions and different talents.

It may be that you create a new method of production for an old technology, or it may be that you paint beautiful pictures or you amaze people with your athletic ability, this doesn’t mean you have to produce a quota - production would be an automated affair anyway, making use of technology to free us from drudgery.

Just imagine what you can do if you are free from your daily servitude/slavery? Furthermore, why would anyone steal anything when everything is in such abundance? Crime will drop to nothing!

Capitalism breeds an unequal society of have’s and have not’s. The poverty stricken person will do what he has to do to survive, and if that means dodgy deals, murder and theft then he will do it! The U.S is the most capitalist country of all and, guess what? It has the most convicted prisoners of any nation on earth.

No one compels me to do what I love doing. I do not want money for my art. I enjoy the feeling I get when someone else enjoys what I create! Oh! The satisfaction we can attain from knowing we have done something good and meaningful for our planet, for our people; this would be our payment, this would get us out of bed in the morning.

If we have all we need already and we can have anything we want, plus everyone is busy creating more things to benefit us all, why would we need payment?

Zeitgeist Addendum: This can happen! This will happen. It is not only an idealist dream.

Our descendants will look back at us today and wonder what the hell we were waiting for. Just like we sometimes look back at our ancestors and wonder what the hell they were thinking!

Zeitgeist Addendum: An emergent universe

The universe works in an emergent way. This means that nothing remains static. We cannot fathom how the world will be in a few hundred years; just like in 1508 they could not fathom a telephone or a DVD player.

The world is in motion, our understandings and values should reflect this. It is no good to hold onto ancient institutions out of misguided loyalty or fear. Open up your mind to new understanding and possibilities, even if it threatens your previous understanding.

Today we hold onto old energy, to old monetary systems, to old religions, to old eating habits, to old politics, all at our own detriment.

To be proved wrong should be a celebrated affair; it means you have elevated yourself to a higher level of understanding. Instead of being offended and reacting aggressively to other views, rather weigh the logic of each perspective or idea, whichever one is more objectively palatable is the clear winner! It is that simple.

Zeitgeist Addendum: The monetary system is a dinosaur living in the new age, so many of our institutions are bygone dinosaurs, kept alive because we won’t embrace change.

Zeitgeist Addendum ends by reminding us that we have nothing to fear but fear itself. We are all star stuff and so is everything else. Become one with your true nature and remove yourself from the rat race as best you can.

At the moment we are in for a complete financial meltdown from the systems own shortcomings, in a few years even the western powers will not be able to afford their repayments to the Central Bank.

The fractional reserve banking system is already at its limits, the century long pyramid scheme will soon come crashing down. This road will lead to bankruptcy and poverty on a massive scale; this equals riots and people becoming terrorists overnight.

The government will have to initiate a complete military dictatorship to quell the uprising but they won’t last long... we can avoid this meltdown if the system is exposed for what it is. Zeitgeist Addendum recommends you start by following these simple steps:

  • Boycott these major banks: Citibank, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America. They are the major players in the Federal Reserve banking system. Close all your accounts with them, and quit if you work for them.
  • Boycott the major news networks; only use the independent news providers on the internet.
  • Use and protect the internet.
  • Never ever, ever, join the military. It is nothing more than an enforcer of elite interests.
  • Boycott energy companies, make you life as self sufficient as possible.
  • Reject the political system. The illusion of democracy is an insult to our intelligence. We simply choose our jailors. The party in power and the opposition are owned by the same corporations.
  • Join the Zeitgeist Movement. Go to www.thezeitgeistmovement.com and join up with the world’s largest movement for social change.

Remember, there is nothing we cannot achieve. We are pure genius, pure energy and creative genius. Together we can change the world.

Embrace change.
